Experiential learning and bookish knowledge:
Our education system used to be monotonous where the teacher would keep on giving lectures and we were supposed to take notes from it. Nowadays, the modern world demands new ideas and techniques to be embedded in studies. An English medium school in South Kolkata has come up with a new array of ideas through which the teachers are not only providing knowledge to the students but also teaching how and where to apply those.
The students are reading a chapter and then implementing the knowledge where needed. Teachers are making the students fall into such situations where they have to apply what they have read and get out of the situation. During winter, my child once asked me why the mirror of the bathroom would become opaque while taking bath with warm water. I couldn’t answer him back and told him a story instead.
Before a few days, after coming back from school, he informed me that he had an assignment to complete. The next day, while taking bath, the same thing happened with the mirror of our bathroom and he made me understand the whole procedure of water evaporation. Then he told me that this was the assignment that he was given by the class teacher. I was so happy that I can’t explain through words. I am thoroughly satisfied with this CBSESchool in Kolkata.
